Andy Scott insists a double dose of Bank Holiday revenge is on the agenda as his Brentford side kick off the weekend in the Lions’ New Den.
Scott’s Brentford side travel to high-flying Millwall tonight before hosting Exeter City on Easter Monday as they bid to extend a four-match unbeaten league run.
The Bees were unlucky to only draw with the Lions when they visited west London in November, while a 3-0 defeat in Devon a fortnight earlier proved to be the catalyst in a turnaround in the club’s fortunes over the next three months.
And it is the prospect of not letting the Grecians do the double over the Bees that is foremost in the manager’s mind.
“We could and should have won against Millwall, but they are on the crest of a wave now and they are going all out for that second automatic promotion spot,” said Scott.
“You wouldn’t back against them doing it given their form, so we will have our work cut out.
“Exeter was an awful performance. We were never at the races there. We need to overcome that disappointment and right the wrongs of that day.
“The target at the beginning of the season was to get to 52 points. The other target was to do the double over as many teams as possible and make sure nobody did the double over us.
“We want to make sure that we continue that to the end of the season.
And midfielder Marcus Bean is boldly predicting a full-house of points from the weekend’s action.
“We know how well Millwall are doing at the moment and we are ready to take on another big team,” he added.
“It will be tough but I can’t see why we can’t collect six points.”
Brentford’s next three games: Apr 2 Millwall (a), 5 Exeter City (h), 10 Huddersfield Town (h).
