AFC Wimbledon striker Jon Main has received an injury boost of sorts with the news his cruciate ligament injury is not as serious as first thought.
Main, who suffered the blow in the recent defeat to Barrow, has damaged his posterior cruciate ligament, meaning an 8-10 week lay-off rather than the feared 12-16 weeks.
Although the striker will obviously miss the remainder of the current season, the injury does not require surgery and Main will be fit to return to pre-season training in the summer.
