Bees defender Karleigh Osborne has echoed boss Andy Scott’s sentiments by insisting Brentford must step up to the plate against League One’s lesser lights.
The Griffin Park chief has challenged his men to take their form against Sheffield Wednesday into the rest of the campaign after a slow start to the league season.
Brentford struggled to put away the division’s less glamorous teams last term and Osborne has urged his team-mates to nip that reputation in the bud this time around - starting at Bristol Rovers.
“We have done well against the big clubs, but we need to beat the teams that aren’t,” he said.
“We’ve trained hard this week and are not looking any further than this weekend’s match.
“The most important game for us is always the next one and this week is no different.
“We played well at the weekend, but we have to back that up at Bristol and try to keep a run of good results going for as long as possible.”
