On-loan Brentford goalkeeper Ben Hamer is not thinking about his Reading future - he’s just focused on doing a job for the Bees.
The 22-year-old switched to Griffin Park on a four-month loan deal on transfer deadline day having been warming the Madejski bench for the last 12 months.
He is in the final year of his Royals contract and started a fourth loan spell in West London in three years with a 1-0 win over League One big boys Sheffield Wednesday.
But the thought of making his stay permanent couldn’t be further from his mind with the job of reviving Brentford’s league fortunes topping his agenda.
“I haven’t really though about my future. I have a contract with Reading until the end of the season, so I can’t really comment,” he said.
“I’ve just got to get on with what I’m doing and do a job for Brentford.
“Hopefully things will go well and then come January time - when there is six months left on my contract - I’ll sit down and think about that.
“At the moment I’m just concentrating on performing well and doing well for Brentford.”
