Sutton United and the Metropolitan Police stage their first community day of the season at Saturday’s Ryman Premier League match with Margate.
More than 200 local schoolchildren have attended fun days in previous seasons, and invitations for Saturday have been sent to nine of the borough’s primary and preparatory schools.
Any child accompanied by an adult who attends the game and is not at one of the invited schools will be admitted for £1.
The theme for the day will be the importance of football in the community and Sutton United Supporters’ Trust will have a marquee and will be highlighting the club’s football development plan.
Youngsters will receive a bag countaining Sutton United souvenirs and there will be a penalty shoot-out competition between children from the represented schools, with the final staged at half time of the Margate game.
Sutton chairman Bruce Elliott said: “The previous fun days have been a great success and we are delighted to be able to continue with them this season.
“The Safer Neighbourhoods Scheme is a worthwhile venture and we are pleased to be able to play our part.”
