Premiership Rugby Stars Nick Easter, Chris Robshaw and Danny Care launched the national QBE Rugby Pro competition at Twickenham Stoop today.
QBE, the Official Business Insurance Partner of Premiership Rugby, will give five non-professional rugby clubs the chance to win a training session with three top Premiership players, plus £1,000 worth of kit.
There are also ten runner-up prizes of training kit worth £1,000.
Harlequins player and QBE ambassador, Nick Easter, thinks QBE Rugby Pro is a great chance for a squad to grow.
“For any club to gain access to specialist knowledge and expertise is an immense opportunity for a team to develop their skills and improve performance.”
The competition is part of QBE’s commitment to supporting rugby at all levels – from elite to grassroots.
Supporters can nominate their club, be it a non-professional, youth or school team, to win this fantastic prize at www.qberugby.com. Prizes will be awarded to innovative, forward thinking English clubs who demonstrate they will benefit most from the two hour training session.
This will take place at the winning clubs’ existing facilities before the end of April 2011, where the players will offer tips and advice to the team during training.
Steven Burns, CEO of QBE European Operations, commented: “QBE has made a commitment to the sport of rugby at all levels, from elite to grassroots. We strongly believe in rewarding entrepreneurialism and teamwork.
"QBE Rugby Pro is set to reward five deserving clubs who deliver on these values.”
Nominated clubs must be from outside the rugby Premiership and RFU Championship.
Entries can be submitted via a short form at www.qberugby.com until 1 December 2010.
The nominations will be judged by a panel including the editor of Rugby World, Premiership Rugby’s Development and Academy Manager and QBE’s Head of Corporate Communications.
The winning clubs will be contacted in January 2011 and published at www.qberugby.com.
