Out-of-favour keeper Richard Lee has urged his Brentford team-mates to build on the positives off Tuesday’s 0-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy horror show at Leyton Orient.

Bees boss Andy Scott described the clash as an ‘horrific match’ but was delighted to watch his side edge into the last 16 of the competition and remain on course for a Wembley final appearance.

Lee, who had the perfect vantage point at Brisbane Road, echoed his manager’s thoughts but believes the cleansheet is something they can take into Saturday’s League One clash with Oldham Athletic.

“It was probably the worst game I’ve ever been involved in. It was terrible to watch,” he said.

It was a frustrating game but you have to take the positives from it and move on. Defensively we weren’t troubled.

“I was delighted for the lads to get back to winning ways against Charlton and hopefully we can take confidence from the last two games.

“This could be a turning point.”

Brentford’s next three games: Oct 9 Oldham Athletic (h), 16 Tranmere Rovers (a), 23 Peterborough Utd (h).
