Terry Brown wants his AFC Wimbledon squad to be pushed to the limit on Saturday as they face Watford at Kingsmeadow.
The Dons are so far undefeated in pre-season, having drawn with Sutton United 1-1 on Saturday and beaten Beckenham Town 6-0 on Tuesday night.
But Championship side Watford represent a different test for Brown's players, many of which will be playing their last friendly of the summer with the preliminary round Carling Cup game at Crawley Town next Friday.
"Saturday is our biggest pre-season game," said Brown.
"It is the one where we are looking at playing the strongest side we can and we are going to have to work very hard against Watford and I want that.
"I want us to pressurised and pushed hard and to see what improvements we need to make.
"Beckenham are a very good team from the Kent League but I am not getting carried away with that result.
"It was a good run out as most of the side got 90 minutes, which is their first 90 minutes of the season and we didn't pick up any injuries, which is always important.
"I was really pleased with the fact we played good football and scored a some good goals, Jack Midson in particularly got a hat-trick and looked good."
Midson's hat-trick came in the space of just five first-half minutes, with other goals coming from Sam Hatton, Rashid Yussuff and Luke Moore, who also scored against Sutton.
James Mulley missed the game with Beckenham but it is hoped he will play some part against Bedfont tonight as he recovers from a hamstring injury, leaving the injury list to contain just long-term absentees Mat Mitchel-King and Fraser Franks.
Brown decided not to offer deals to trailists Szymon Sidorowicz and striker Bas Savage, though he admits he is still in the market for a forward.
"I would like another forward if I can get one and we are talking to a couple of lads over the next few days," he said.
"I would like to have four out and out strikers but I don't think we see it as urgent right now."
