Jamie Stuart has been named AFC Wimbledon's new captain, with fellow centre-half Brett Johnson vice-captain.
At 34, Stuart is the most experienced member of the Dons side and has worn the skipper's armband at Grays Athletic and Rushden & Diamonds before.
He replaces Danny Kedwell who left to join home-town club Gillingham last month.
"You couldn't ask for two better characters to be at the leaderboard of my team," said Brown.
"Jamie always gives total commitment.
"You would look at going to Beckenham Town on Tuesday night and think it was just a friendly against a Kent League side.
"But Jamie was running about all over the place, talking to everyone and organising everything.
"It looked like every tackle was the most important tackle of his life."
