Brentford have created history in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy by becoming the first club to win team of the round award for the second successive month.

After scooping the accolade for their performance in round two against Charlton Athletic, the Bees can now make space on their sideboard for yet more silverware.

Uwe Rosler’s men followed up their 3-0 success over the Addicks with a 6-0 demolition of AFC Bournemouth, which unsurprisingly resulted in a second successive team of the round prize.

Rosler said:: “The Johnstone`s Paint Trophy is a competition which is close to our hearts.

"The memory that those of our players, who tasted the atmosphere generated at Wembley Stadium last April, took away with them has rubbed off on the rest of the squad.

"However, next time we all want to savour the atmosphere enjoyed by the victors.”

Johnstone's Paint sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “After such an amazing run to the final of last season’s competition, it really is great to see Brentford at it again this time around.

“They have given us some fabulous memories to treasure this season already and thoroughly deserve to win their second team of the round award for their exploits.

“It is the first time in six years that a club can lay claim to two successive awards, which tells you how impressive the achievement is.”

And in a further boost for Bees fans, their team’s exploits have triggered a 40 per cent discount off all Johnstone’s, Leyland and Fat Hog products for them all to make the most of.

The ‘Team of the Round’ giveaway is one of a series of incentives on offer for supporters this season, as part of the trophy’s ‘Just Rewards’ initiative.

All supporters have to do to claim their discounts is visit www.johnstonespainttrophy.com and download a ‘Just Rewards’ voucher book before redeeming the appropriate coupon at their local decorating centres.

These can be found in Hampton Road, Twickenham for all Brentford supporters.

Vouchers can also be redeemed at any Johnstone’s or Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre within a 20 mile radius of Griffin Park.
