Harlequins fans may be dreaming of double glory this season but as far as Jordan Turner-Hall is concerned the job is only half done.

Last Saturday, Quins beat reigning Premiership champions Saracens 24-19 in front of a world record 83,761 crowd at Wembley to rubber-stamp their position at the top of the league and underline their credentials as genuine championship contenders.

It is not just glory on the home front they are chasing either, with a match tomorrow night against European giants Toulon in the Amlin Cup quarter-finals – a competition they are defending having lifted the trophy last year.

Despite an exciting and possibly trophy-laden end of season ahead, centre Turner-Hall is keeping his feet well and truly on the ground.

“Obviously, we do not want to get too far ahead of ourselves,” said the 24-year-old.

“A lot of people behind the scenes have put a lot of work into this season.

“It started a year ago in the summer and we have been building it for that long so it is good to see it bringing rewards.

“But we have got a few difficult games before we can think of the Championship play-offs and there are no easy games at this part of the season.

“Toulon have a team made up of 15 internationals but we are a team that relishes these opportunities and, at the end of the day, it is just another game.

“We will respect them but when we play well we can compete against some of the best in Europe, especially if we can impose our game on them.”

Quins were good value for their win against Saracens and showed some ferocious defending in the final minutes to secure victory.

Turner-Hall scored the opening try after just three minutes and George Lowe also crossed in the first half for a 14-12 lead at the break.

Danny Care added a third try before he, Joe Marler and Nick Easter all got sin-binned but they held on to move six points clear at the top of the league.

“We were very ruthless in their half on Saturday,” added Turner-Hall.

“Obviously, we have been working on our defence a lot this year and I think it showed the courage and the belief we have in the squad.

“Saracens won the Premiership last year and they are a great team with strength in depth so it was great to turn up at Wembley and put in a performance like that.

“It is my second time playing there and it was a great atmosphere.

“It was very impressive to have a world record crowd, especially at a ground like Wembley, and if you cannot get up for a game like that there’s something wrong with you.”
