A hamstring injury is set to keep Hal Luscombe out of action for a fortnight as NEC Harlequins still seek their first win of the season.
They have made five changes to their team for Sunday's trip to high-flying Bristol in the Guinness Premiership (3pm).
Gavin Duffy comes in for Luscombe and partners Craig McMullen in the midfield.
A knee injury sustained against Sale last Saturday rules out David Strettle, with his place on the right wing going to Tom Williams.
In the pack, Ricky Nebbett comes in at tighthead prop for the injured Mike Ross, while James Hayter is back from a chest injury and starts at hooker in place of Jimmy Richards.
Nicolas Spanghero partners Ollie Kohn in the second row, with Jim Evans dropping to the bench.
Also among the replacements is Tani Fuga, who is in the squad for the first time this season having recovered from a foot injury.
With Williams promoted to the starting XV, Simon Keogh takes his place on the bench.
The latest on Quins' walking wounded is: * Hal Luscombe: Out for a fortnight * David Strettle: Sidelined for the next month * Mike Ross: should return from an ankle injury in a fortnight * Stuart Abbott: Withdrawn hours before kick-off last Saturday, a knee injury will keep him out for a month Quins director of rugby Dean Richards said: "Aside from their defeat at Gloucester last weekend, Bristol have made a tremendous start to the season and fully deserve their status as league leaders.
"They are a particularly difficult team to play at the Memorial Stadium and will be determined to get back to winning ways.
"That elusive first win is getting ever closer and while the game against Sale last Saturday may have ended in defeat, once again there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
"We played some outstanding rugby at times, and are getting better and better by the game.
If we can reproduce the kind of form we showed in patches last weekend, then we can cause any team in the league problems."
The full team is as follows: 15. Mike Brown 14. Tom Williams 13. Gavin Duffy 12. Craig McMullen 11. Ugo Monye 10. Adrian Jarvis 9. Andy Gomarsall 1. Ceri Jones 2. James Hayter 3. Ricky Nebbett 4. Ollie Kohn 5. Nicolas Spanghero 6. Nick Easter (Capt.) 7. Will Skinner 8. Chris Hala'ufia
