Terry Brown is desperate for record signing Byron Harrison to find the net for the AFC Wimbledon.

The striker, signed from Stevenage last month, has yet to break his Dons duck in seven appearances for the club, who recorded back-to-back draws with Morecambe and Cheltenham Town this week.

Wimbledon have struggled for goals and have just two from their last four league games, leaving to Brown to reveal he would like nothing more than to see Harrison, and his other new forward signing, Jason Prior, get off the mark for the Dons.

“Being a forward myself I know the difference between how you play when you have scored and when they are not going in,” said Brown.

“And when either Jason or Byron gets a goal they will go up a few notches.

“Both need a bit of time to adapt to the way we play and, for Byron, we are asking him to produce something completely different to Stevenage’s style of play.

“He has played well in the games without registering a goal and when we do score I hope it is one of those guys.

“We are not creating as much as we were earlier in the season and I am desperate for one of my other front men to pitch in and help Jack Midson along the way.”

Rashid Yussuff equalised for the Dons on Saturday for a 1-1 draw before they secured a credible 0-0 at promotion-chasing Cheltenham on Tuesday – their first clean sheet in the league since October 29.

“It was a really big point for us,” added Brown, whose side goes to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

“You plan for three points from your home games but if we are going to the league leaders and coming away with a point we are going to be really happy.

“We defended really well and looked really solid, they only had one really good chance.

“We played some nice football and I do not think you would have noticed the difference between the sides.

“If you can keep clean sheets and be difficult to beat you will pick up wins and we definitely made ourselves difficult to beat on Tuesday.

“We are not conceding two or three goals a game any more and I have no doubt we will start to score some goals.”
