Surrey Senior Cup holders Kingstonian let the trophy slips from their hands in their first defence against a struggling but determined Corinthian Casuals side.
The first half was predictable with the Ks increasingly in control and the game sparked into life when they took the lead through an excellent Danny Morris strike.
But Casuals, young, keen and nippy, worked hard, looking for their first cup win since November 2002, and were rewarded with Harry Holloway's equalizer just before the break.
Skipper Scott Corbett was unlucky not to put Ks back into the lead in the first minute of the second half.
But the visitors were punished when some Casuals pace saw Steve Symes pull down Kane Sargeant who was through on goal and he received his marching orders again.
Casuals took full advantage of the Ks' defensive disarray with Sargeant netting an immediate set-piece second goal.
Ten man Ks came back and tried to force the game into extra-time but the Casuals defended coolly in numbers and the visitors just didn't make enough chances where it counts.
K's man Dean Lodge started the game with a penetrating run down the right flank but his cross sailed over the far post. Then striker Tony Reid went off down the left but Casuals keeper Dave Tidy saved at his feet.
After that Casuals winger Kane Sergeant started to have a real influence on the game, he shot from distance and then he found colleague Aaron Cole-Bolt but his punt was comfortable for K's keeper Luke Garrard.
Sergeant then took off on a promising run down the left but Richard Taylor blocked his progress. Mazin Ahmad took off twice down the left but his only reward was a corner.
after 24 minutes Ks took the lead, and it was striker DANNY MORRIS who fashioned a goal from nothing, taking off down the right, and blasting the ball into the far corner past a full-stretch Tidy. Jon Coke then set Ahmad free down the left but his cross went begging.
Four minutes later another run from Reid down the left saw a well-placed Tidy hold the cross. A Sergeant cross was punched cleanly away by Garrard.
Then again Sergeant tested Garrard who held his drive.
After 34 minutes the home side almost equalized, a powerful run and rising drive from Andy Davidson saw Garrard block but winger Luke Gay skied over the rebound.
With five minutes to the break Ahmad's free-kick from distance was only just wide.
On 43 minutes it was the Casuals who scored, a high Sergeant free-kick from the left slipped from Garrard's hands, Gay's header struck the post and HARRY HOLLOWAY was on hand to slip the ball home from close range.
In the final minute a Morris flick found Lodge and his on-target drive saw a fine full-stretch save from Tidy.
Corbett must wonder what he has to do to score. In the first minute of the second half his drive was pushed away by Tidy, his follow-up header was cleared off the line, and his follow-up shot to that struck the bar!
Sergeant replied with a run down the left which was stopped by a well-timed tackle from Danny Lavender.
Then a Sergeant chip from the edge of the Ks box went over. Just after the hour a 25 yard free-kick from sub Martyn Lee unluckily struck the far post with Tidy beaten.
After 67 minutes Cole-Bolt split Ks' backline setting Sergeant free, but he was brought down by Symes who received a straight red.
A minute later KANE SERGEANT's cheesecutter free-kick from the edge of the K's box went straight through the defensive wall and past a bewildered and stranded Garrard.
The Casuals fell back and were not unduly troubled, an Ahmad free-kick was punched clear by Tidy and then with a minute to go Lee found Coke out on the right and his cross found Morris, but his header bounced off the top of the Casuals bar.
