Walton Casuals boss Mark Hams was ‘cock-a-hoop’ after back to back wins in Ryman Division One South over the bank holiday weekend.

A 3-2 win over Tooting & Mitcham on Saturday – with goals from Malachi Hudson, Malik Ouani and Conor French – was followed by a 2-0 win at neighbours Walton & Hersham on Monday – Hudson and Scott Day doing the damage.

The Casuals are now fourth in the table, but take a break from the league action this weekend with a trip to Shoreham for the FA Cup preliminary round clash.

Hams said: “If someone had offered me six points from the weekend I would have been cock-a-hoop.

“We’re scoring lots of goals which is great, but I am a little concerned about the goals we’re conceding.

“We’re not a big player in this league and we cannot afford to bring in the big names in defence, so there will always be mistakes at the back.”

Walton & Hersham had a man sent off just before the break on Monday, but Hams is adamant it did not affect the game.

He said: “I don’t have a crystal ball so I cannot say if we would have won if they had kept 11 men on the field.

“But I think we would have beaten them because we created enough chances to score six or seven goals.”

Conor French limped out of the win over Tooting & Mitcham, but Hams is confident the striker will be ready for action by the middle of next week.
