Ks produced a comfortable relegation-easing victory at Kingsmeadow on Saturday by beating neighbours and fellow Ryman League strugglers Walton Casuals 3-1 despite having skipper Simon Sobihy sent off.

After a minute's silence was observed for former playing legend Johnny Drawwater, Ks immediately gained control, with Tommy Moorhouse putting them ahead and the league's Golden Boot winner Bobby Traynor later netting twice to increase his goal tally to ten, including another expertly converted penalty.

Unfortunately, the game was overshadowed by an injury to Stags defender and former Ks man Billy Mead, who broke his leg 10 minutes before the break and was stretchered off to hospital following medical treatment on the pitch for 20 harrowing minutes.

Ks had taken the lead in the third minute following a Neil Lampton corner. Chris Sharpling's shot was deflected to the unmarked Simon Huckle, whose header found Moorhouse and he nodded past keeper Matthew Reed.

Reed saved from Sharpling and Moorhouse before Ks went 2-0 ahead in the 29th minute. Sharpling was upended by the diving Reed as he tried to reach Lampton's low cross, and Traynor sent the resultant spot kick into the right corner of the net.

The Stags had chances to reduce the arrears, but central defender John Ambridge headed wide and keeper Luke Garrard later saved from former Ks man Jermaine Hinds.

In between times Traynor made it 3-0 in the 55th minute. Ks' man of the match Wes Goggin sent Traynor racing down the middle of the park and he confidently slipped the ball past the outcoming Reed.

An occasionally bad-tempered game then saw Sobihy sent off with 15 minutes left when he picked up a second yellow card for a foul.

Ten minutes later the Stags' endeavour was finally rewarded. A long high free-kick from captain Scott Harris fell to sub Michael Carpenter deep in the Ks' box and he let loose a powerful volley that struck the inside of the bar on its way into the net.

Harris repeated the exercise with a long ball to Carpenter, but this time he was just offside.
