Malachi Hudson enjoyed his spell at Ryman Division One South Walton Casuals, but a move to Kingstonian has just made his life a whole load easier.
The former Welling United winger was part of the Stags team – then managed by ex-Ks assistant Mark Hams – that finished ninth in the Ryman Division One South in 2014 and broke a host of club records along the way.
The 20-year-old returned to Welling at the beginning of last season, but found himself on the fringes of the first team leading to a two-month loan spell with Ks last term.
He was released from the National League outfit in May and revealed the arrivals of players like Dan Bennett and Harry Odametey at Kingsmeadow, meant it was a no brainer to join boss Tommy Williams’ Ryman Premier League promotion chasers.
“I really enjoyed my time there playing good football and week in week out and the boys were good,” he said last week.
“I got on well with Mark Hams the manager at the time, Anthony Gale – who was working with him – and Tony Gale the chairman.
“I got released from Welling and I felt like I could find other clubs, but I enjoyed my loan spell at Ks last season and that helped me decide this was the right move.
“It is enjoyable playing with Dan Bennett and Harry Odemetey going forward, they help me create chances and makes the game easier for me playing with better players.
“It just makes everything easier when you are all on the same wavelength.”
Ks exited the FA Trophy at the third qualifying round stage on Saturday as they were humbled 3-0 by National League South Truro City.
Williams’ men were never really in it once Dan Green put the visitors ahead after just nine minutes.
Matt Wright added a second 17 minutes later before Isaac Vassell wrapped things up with the third late in the second half.
Kingstonian, a point adrift of the top five in the league table, host Merstham on Saturday.
