Corinthian Casuals boss James Bracken reckons the pressure is on his rivals as the race for the Ryman Division One South play-offs heats up.
A Shaun Okojie double in two minutes saw off the challenge of Carshalton Athletic 2-0 last night (Tuesday), to leave Casuals to just one point outside the promise land.
The match was marred by two red cards for Casuals Niall Wright and the Robins Ricky Korboa.
However, the three points, on the back of Saturday’s 1-0 win over East Grinstead, which was also scored by Okojie, has extended Casuals’ unbeaten run to four games.
Bracken said: “Going into Saturday [at Walton & Hersham] we’re very focussed.
“We’ve had pressure for the past four games because I’ve told the players that we have to win them all, and we’ve won four out of four. So there’s no more pressure now.
“There’s pressure on one or two teams around us who should have a look at what we’re doing and realise we were six points adrift and now we’re a point outside the play-offs with three games to go.
“So maybe they’ll feel a bit of pressure.”
He added: “Was it a feisty game? I can’t remember us committing a bad foul in the whole game.
“We’ve had one sent off just before half time for something I honestly can’t see and neither can anyone else in the ground.
“It changed the game even though we were 2-0 up by that point. Our game plan certainly worked and counter-acted everything they were trying to achieve, which is why we scored two early goals.
“In the second half, I thought we were fantastic.”
