Corinthian Casuals boss James Bracken hailed his team’s first Ryman Division South clean sheet of the season at the weekend – and did not have to wait long for the second.
Shaun Okojie’s second half strike secured a 1-0 win over Ramsgate on Saturday, before Jamie Byatt and Mahrez Bettache accounted for Three Bridges 2-0 on Tuesday.
The double went some way to reversing a trend that had seen Casuals had conceded an average of two goals per game prior to the Ramsgate triumph.
“That’s probably our best win of the season in terms of how solid we were for the whole game,” Bracken said on Saturday.
"We were organised, hard working and our shape throughout the game meant that there was no period in the match where we lost our positioning.
“Everyone grafted for the first hour and made sure we didn’t concede. We then made a couple of changes that tilted things in our favour.
“We probably could’ve added one or two more goals in just the way the game panned out on the counter attack. All in all, I was delighted.”
Casuals go to Herne Bay tomorrow.
