Kingstonian striker Saheed Sankoh faces a battle to save his career at the club after boss Alan Dowson admitted a host of players were fighting for their futures.

Sankoh, 19, was left on the bench for Saturday's 3-0 win over Ryman Division One South play-off rivals Dulwich Hamlet, with Dowson prefering Simon Huckle as a makeshift partner for Bobby Traynor.

The former Woking man has not scored since netting in a 1-0 win at Burgess Hill Town on November 10.

Dowson has consistently bemoaned his strikers' profligacy in front of goal and finally lost patience last week by bringing in former AFC Wimbledon frontman Stephen Goddard on a permanent basis.

Midfielder Tommy Williams was also brought in from Borehamwood and scored on his debut against Dulwich.

And Dowson, who has released Wes Goggins, will not be afraid to make further changes if necessary.

"I still think there will be some hard calls to make because we must prove Saturday's win wasn't a flash in the pan," he said.

"We have been a bit hit-and-miss recently and, if we starting playing like we did against Molesey again, more players could be on their way.

"I can't name names, but it would be fair to say there are players playing for their future here.

"I have to make changes to keep this club moving forward."

Traynor opened the scoring at the weekend before Wayne Finnie and Williams put the seal on a convincing win.

And Dowson is keen for a repeat at former club Walton & Hersham on Saturday.

"We had a good start to the season and the middle has been terrible, so hopefully in the final third we will be back to near where we were three months ago," he added.

"I am not going to get carried away after one good result. It is heartbreaking to let lads go and I really hope the boys we have here can turn it around."
