A lifelong supporter is appealing for fans to help him to compile part of Tooting & Mitcham’s history.

Ted Parsons wants to find out if there are any footballers still living who played for the club in the 1933-34 season, when they were in the London Premier Division.

Alternatively, he hopes family members will share memories or photographs.

The inspiration for his search is having got his hands on a team-sheet of a fixture against Streatham Town for which the Tooting team was: J Johnson, A Dixon, W Heasman, A Anderson, J Chick, L Packer, R Carey, T Glen, G Goodwin, H Pullen, F Berry.

Now retired and living in Colchester, 75-year-old Ted only gets to see his beloved Terrors these days when they play in Essex or north Kent.

Ted said: “I have been a supporter since my father took me to my first football match at Sandy Lane in 1947.

“These days, I follow the club via their very good website, where they are trying to record the history of the club since its formation in the late 1920s.

“With the aid of my computer, and time on my hands, I have been unable to uncover and pass on quite a few facts, figures and the odd photo.

“If anybody could help me in my research I would be most grateful and will do my best to ensure that their name is not forgotten in the club’s history.”
