Three consecutive away defeats have put a small dent in Kingstonian's play-off hopes and they will be kicking themseves they didn't get something from this Ryman Premier Leage clash at Longmead Stadium.
Angels striker Paul Booth crowned his side's explosive start with a deadly early strike. A stunned Ks immediately responded and applied some serious pressure but just couldn't grab an equaliser, although Simon Huckle's effort just before the break struck the woodwork.
The second half continued in a similar vein as Ks pushed up but the Angels backline was steady and, when defender Lee Hall received a straight red card, the game was starting to move away from the visitors.
Again, Ks keeper Rob Tolfrey kept his side in the hunt with two quality point-blank saves.
Ks manager Alan Dowson threw on the attacking qualities of striker Carl Wilson-Denis and Dean Lodge but all to no avail.
Then further misery for Ks after the final whistle, when midfielder Lee Hickie also received a straight red card after a frank exchange of views with the referee.
Ks' busy schedule continues with another away trip on Tuesday evening at AFC Hornchurch. It was all Angels right from the off. On just five minutes, winger Jerahyl Hughes took off at some pace down the right into the Ks box, but Hall intercepted the cross and Tolfrey mopped up.
Three minutes later, a short Booth free-kick on the edge of the Ks box saw his skipper Anthony Storey blast over.
Then winger Scott Kinch went wide from the edge of the away box.
On 10 minutes the Angels secured the only goal of the game when PAUL BOOTH unleashed a ferocious, fizzing strike from some 25 yards that blazed past a full-stretch Tolfrey.
Ks' heads didn't drop, though, and a Hickie free-kick from way out on the left was well held by keeper Lee Worgan under pressure.
It was Hickie again from distance whose powerful drive was pushed out by a diving Worgan.
Bobby Traynor set up Hickie, who sent in another useful far-post cross attempting to find striker Andy White.
The Angels responded with a couple of powerful runs by Hughes that were both blocked.
On 38 minutes, it was Hickie again who took off down the left and picked out Traynor whose powerful drive was only parried away by Worgan, Huckle made the follow-up, but lifted the ball over the bar.
A high cross from Christian Jolley from the right was well held by Worgan with Traynor on hand.
Tonbridge's Lee Minsull floated a cross into the Ks box, where Hughes knocked the ball back for Booth to fire straight at a well-placed Tolfrey.
In the final minute of the half, good possession and control by Traynor saw him set up Huckle, whose rising drive struck the bar on its way out. On 56 minutes, Hughes sent in a free-kick from the left flank into a crowded Ks goalmouth, where Tolfrey punched clear and a push was spotted.
Four minutes later a Hickie free-kick, also from the left, saw Jolley on the far post head back into the Angels goalmouth but it was efficiently cleared.
Hickie then cut in from the right at some pace but his shot was deflected for a corner.
Ks then went close when a Hickie corner was knocked down for sub John Fletcher, on for the injured Max Hustwick, who turned and hooked the ball past Worgan but also over the bar.
On 63 minutes, Hall was given his marching orders for a tackle on Minshull on the halfway line.
Jolley sent a throughball for Traynor to chase but defender Phil Starkley did well to direct the ball to safety.
It was a good spell for Ks as Huckle set up Traynor just inside the Angels box but his low drive was wide of the far post.
Back came the home side with some threatening counter-attacks.
Hughes rolled the ball into Booth's path but fortunately for the K's backline he ran the ball out.
Then a quick break from Storey saw him release sub Adam Burchell in space but Tolfey came flying out and made a fine block.
With 11 minutes to go, a Liam Harwood free-kick was pushed out by Tolfrey on the far post.
Four minutes from time, sub Jamie Cade set Minshull compleyely free down the middle of the park but he could only fire the ball at the outcoming Tolfrey.
Then a powerful drive from Storey was pushed away by a full-stretch Tolfrey.
Deep into additional time, Lodge was making a nuisance of himself in the away box but his drive was again blocked.
As the players exchanged handshakes straight after the final whistle Hickie, who had one of his best games for Ks, was red-carded.
