Bognor Regis Town 1 Carshalton Athletic 0
Despite enjoying the lion’s share of possession in Tuesday night's Ryman League Premier Division clash, the Robins struggled to convert this into scoring opportunities, and those that were created - particularly in the first half - were poorly finished by a goal-shy attack and midfield.
Bognor, in contrast, spent much of the game on the back foot but, when Richard Hudson was presented with a shooting chance from outside the area on 71 minutes, he made the most of it.
His strike earned his side their second successive victory and deepened the Robins' problems with this latest defeat against their fellow strugglers at the wrong end of the division.
A late but unconvincing rally could and should have secured at least a point, but home keeper Anthony ender made several good saves to ensure that his side hung on for all three points.
Robins: Nick Hamann, David Ray, Rob Watkins (Rashid Kamara), Justyn Roberts, Lewis Gonsalves, Karl Murray, Barry Stevens, Kenny Beaney, Charlie Ide, Richard Jolly, Craig Faulconbridge
Subs not used: Gerry Gonella, Steve Newman
