Wealdstone 2 Kingstonian 2
It was only the end of last month that these play-off hopefuls clashed at Kingsmeadow, producing a 3-3 end-to-end Ryman Premier League thriller.
History repeated itself at St George's Stadium on Saturday, with three goals in the opening six minutes of the game.
The Stones caught the Ks backline cold twice but, fortunately, on-fire striker Carl Wilson-Denis kept his side in it the chase with an immediate reply.
The Stones, who played two games midweek, hung on to their slender lead as an exciting game went end to end.
Wilson-Denis had a shot cleared off the line and, at the other end, Ks keeper Rob Tolfrey made an important point-blank save late on from striker Callum Martin to keep his side involved.
Then, late drama in the very last minute of the game as Wilson-Denis pierced a tired Stones backline to make sure of a hard-fought away point.
Ks are back in action tonight (Monday, March 15) when they entertain Ashford Town (Mx) at Kingsmeadow.
On just two minutes, a Matt Gray corner from the right fell to an unmarked Wilson-Denis on the far post but he blazed the ball over.
A minute later, it was the start of the goal frenzy when pacy Stones winger DANNY SPENDLOVE took off down the right and coolly slid the ball past the outcoming and stranded Tolfrey.
Two minutes, later a Ryan Ashe corner from the left saw hesitancy deep in the Ks defence, allowing unmarked CHRIS O'LEARY to comfortably head home on the far post.
But before the Stones ran riot, a minute later, Bashiru Alimi took off down the right pushing the ball up to CARL WILSON-DENIS deep in the home box to cut in and buried a well-struck drive into the far corner.
Back came the home side - a mighty throw from the left from defender Lee Chappell skidded off Gray's head and looked own-goal bound until a full-stretch Tolfrey pushed it around the post.
From the corner, a volley from Marvin McCoy was tipped over by the busy Tolfrey.
Ks replied with a Gray corner from the right that was met with a drive from Wilson-Denis that beat keeper Sean Thomas but was hoofed off the line by a well-placed Spendlove.
On 16 minutes, another long and penetrating throw from Chappell found Ashe but he belted the ball over first-time.
Ks replied with a Gray cross from the right that found his skipper Francis Duku just inside the home box but his effort was deflected for a corner.
The impressive Ashe found Martin just inside the Ks box but Tolfrey was out quickly to mop up.
Then a Spendlove run and cross from the right was smothered by Tolfrey on the near post.
On 33 minutes, striker Bobby Traynor fired over from the edge of the Stones box.
Then Traynor set Wilson-Denis free down the right, he beat two defenders, but his drive was straight at Thomas. Gray sent in two consecutive corners that were both seen out.
A third found Duku but he headed wide. With four minutes to the break, Gray found Traynor out on the right where he sent ina powerful ball that flashed across the face of the Stones goal.
Stones striker Matt McClure sent in a cross from the left which found Martin but he struck the ball over.
On 51 minutes, Ks almost shot themselves in the foot when a backpass from defender John Fletcher was never going to reach Tolfrey.
The ball was intercepted by Martin, who set up the dangerous Spendlove but he struck the ball wide of the far post as Ks defenders rushed into their goalmouth.
Stones centre-back Kieran Forbes took off on a run down the middle of the park, releasing Spendlove down the right where he sent in a ball right across the face of the Ks goal.
Ks winger Christian Jolley showed good possession deep in the away box but his final shot was straight at Thomas.
On 65 minutes, Martin went through the Ks backline, darting into the Ks box, but Tolfrey came flying out to make a fine diving save.
Two minutes later Ks manager Alan Dowson reshuffled his pack throwing on attacker Dean Lodge and new boy, attacking midfielder Luke I'Anson from Bromley FC.
Adam Thompson immediately set Lodge free down the right and he returned the ball to the Ks central defender who had raced into the Stones box, unfortunately his drive was deflected wide.
A Jolley run down the left saw him pick out Traynor in the home box but his shot was blocked.
Then Jolley took off again down the left, around the back of the Stones defence, finding Traynor again but his shot was also blocked.
With five minutes to the break, Wilson-Denis out on the right flank tried to pick out Lodge on the near post but his effort was smothered by Thomas.
Then Fletcher made a very important tackle stopping Martin down the left.
It looked as if the tired Stones backline would hang on for all the points that was until Alimi made a fine crossfield pass to Lodge way out on the left.
He picked out CARL WILSON-DENIS on the far post and he lashed the ball home into the far corner.
There was an additional and tantalising four minutes as Gray curled in an edge of the Stones box free-kick over the defensive wall but Thomas made a fine full-stretch save pushing the ball to safety.
In the dying seconds, Lodge took off down the left and sent in another far post cross that was headed out by Chappell.
There was still time for another worrying long and high throw from Chappell deep into a jammed Ks box but Tolfrey was there first to punch clear.
