Ks assistant boss Mark Hams has described the launch of the club’s youth academy scheme as a major step forward.
Kingstonian have teamed up with Glyn School of Technology and sports coaching company SCL to offer a two-year NVQ in football coaching combined with a range of vocational and academic qualifications.
The youth academy team will also be exposed to six hours off UEFA ‘A’ licence level coaching and entered into the Conference Youth League playing against many top non-League teams.
“This is a huge feather in our cap. The players will get the best coaching and our first team will get first dibs on the best of the emerging talent,” added Hams.
Trials for the scheme - at Priest Hill Playing Fields, Ewell - will be held on April 13 and 15.
