Kingstonian, leading 2-0 with two breakaway goals from striker Danny Morris, had to hang on for a draw as AFC Sudbury battled back in the second-half of a gripping FA Trophy first qualifying round tie in Suffolk on Saturday.

Manager Stuart McIntyre made an inspired substitution in bringing on Julian Sills and his claming influence ensured that Ks earned a replay at Kingsmeadow on Monday.

Morris had fired the visitors ahead after only three minutes when he lashed the ball past stunned keeper Nathan Munson following a free-kick by skipper Martyn Lee.

After that Sudbury launched a steady onslaught on the Ks goal and the menacing Luke Hammond tested keeper Luke Garrard with a 30-yard free-kick.

Steve Potterill then resorted to bringing down striker Tommy Noble and was fortunate to escape with a yellow card.

On 32 minutes Ks were two-up. Mazin Ahmad tore down the right flank and his inch perfect cross to the far post was drilled home first time by Morris.

A mazy run from Tony Reid set up Glenn Boosey soon afterwards, but his first-time effort went over.

A minute from the interval Sudbury manager Mark Morsley was sent off to the grandstand for some unsuitable comments, but his side still pressed forward.

A run and drive from defender Shane Wardley took a deflection which Garrard did well to smother.

With 63 minutes gone, Sudbury reduced the arrears.

Skipper David Head's drive was adjudged to been deliberately blocked at point blank range by Tommy Moorhouse with his outstretched arms and David Head sent Garrard the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Garrard had to make a fine save from Claydon before Sudbury equalised in the 70th minute. Claydon whipped the ball across to Tommy Noble, who slotted it home from close range.

When Ks recovered Morris had a chance to get his hat-trick, but his drive was blocked.
