Old Actonians Ladies ran out 2-1 winners over Horley Town in their first home game of the season.

Lindsay Canham hit the bar early on and it wasn’t long before Actonians took the lead.

Canham floated a corner into the box and Linda Fox’s bullet header found the net.

Soon afterwards Horley equalised when a corner trickled in at the near post.

Actonians continued to press forward in the second half and, with 20 minutes left, Canham got through one-on-one with the keeper and poked the ball home.

Unfortunately she picked up a hamstring strain in the process and, with no subs available, Actionians had to play the last 20 minutes with 10 players.

Although Horley saw more of the ball, they never really looked like scoring.
