Ryan Healy pulled one back but, despite numerous further chances, it proved to be a frustrating and disappointing performance by Sutton.
The South West Trains player of the match, with a faultless display at full-back, was Arjan Jeevan. Sutton are away to Portsmouth this Saturday in the Southern League.
