Hercules Wimbledon's Lisa Crow battled through ankle-deep to finish a strong 50th out of more than 250 runners in the South of England senior women's cross country championship at Parliament Hill Fields last weekend.
Best of the depleted senior men's squad was Phil Glynn who was 93rd out of 541 finishers in the senior men's 15km championship.
Hercules Wimbledon's best runners were saving themselves for this weekend's English National cross country championships which are being staged at Herrington Park, Sunderland, on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Hercules Wimbledon's women athletes have been showing good form in the road races.
Amy Aronson won first woman finisher in the 26.2 Road Runners Club's Valentine 10km road race at Chessington on Sunday in 38:45. She took almost a minute off her previous best time for the distance set in September last year when she finished 25th overall out of 360 runners.
Meanwhile, continuing her preparations for April's Virgin London Marathon, Claire Grima set a Hercules Wimbledon women's veterans over-35 record in the Brighton half-marathon on Sunday.
Mother of two Claire clocked 1:22:40 in finishing fourth in the women's race and overall 82nd out of 7,539 runners.
Her husband David was top Hercules Wimbledon finisher taking 37th place in 1:19:05.
His brother, Alex was 112th in 1:24:16 while another Hercules Wimbledon finisher was Rob Tuer who was 44th in 1:19:54.
Francesca Clarke also continued her preparations for the London marathon by finishing second in the women's category in the Kingston parkrun on Saturday in 20:55.
Further afield Joe Toomey was third out of 163 runners in the Liverpool parkrun in 16:46.
Hercules Wimbledon's track and field training sessions take place at Wimbledon Park athletics stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6.30pm and Sunday mornings at 10.30am. Further details from coaching coordinator Maurice Sharp on 020 8337 8707.
Hercules Wimbledon Athletic Club hold mid-week road running training sessions for marathon, cross country and road runners from Lauriston Cottage, 6a Southside, Wimbledon Common, at the junction with Lauriston Road, every Wednesday evening from 7pm. Contact Pete Mulholland for more details.
