Ernest Bevin College enjoyed plenty of success on the table tennis and volleyball fronts over half-term last week.
The college's U16s table tennis team of Andre Dunkley, Lobsang Lama, Joseph Langham-Ferreira, and Ovi Eyarhono made it through the National Schools Teams Semi-Finals held in Bournemouth. They will now take their place in the finals of the competition that will be held in Leicester on 23rd March.
Langham-Ferriera also secured his place in the National Schools Individual finals in the U16 age group by beating team-mate Dunkley in the final of the heats. In the U13 age group Joseph Noah, who has only been playing table tennis for a year, beat his EBC team mate Beejay Arjan to secure his place in the National Individual final competition to be held in Doncaster in April.
Meanwhile, the U16s volleyball team also qualified for the Volleyball England National Championship finals. On Saturday, they won all of their group games to qualify in first place having beaten last year's runners-up Boswells Blaze 2-1. In the semi-final, they convincingly beat Newcastle Staffs 2-0 (25-16, 25-18).
They will now play on April 21 in an all-London final against last year's winners Chadwell Heath at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering on the National Cup Finals weekend.
The squad was Cameron Carrington (C), Tobi Shatimehin, Kieran Dyer, Kory Bristol, Arran Simon, Sebastian Espin, Eric Caho, Adam Baiza, Jordan Robinson and Britton Howe.
