Mark Booker, of Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, is the new Surrey amateur champion.
The 34-year-old not only led his club to victory in the team strokeplay competition last week, he then triumphed in the individual matchplay.
It is the first county title for Booker, who plays off a plus two handicap and is in his third year as captain of the Surrey first team.
“I am especially delighted to win this title at last,” he said.
“I think the nearest I have previously come was a place in the semi-final several years ago.”
In a very tight final against Vincent Thorne, of Roehampton, Booker had to birdie the final hole to take the match into a play-off.
He came out on top, winning on the third extra hole.
