Surrey’s Tennis players are out to impress at this years’ Summer County Cup, at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne, as they aim to wrestle the title from Hertfordshire’s male and female players.
With a number of hopefuls, including Chris Eaton in the doubles, a Wimbledon second-rounder from 2008, and 19-year-old Francesca Stephenson who has been around the top 500 in the world previously, they are expecting big things.
Tournament director Julie Piper said: “The Aegon Summer County Cup is one of the highlights of the domestic tennis season.
“A month ago Laura Robson was playing at Devonshire Park in the Aegon International so the players can look forward to some of the best courts in the country.
“It will be a fantastic tournament and no doubt with everyone supporting their counties it should be a lot of fun.”
The fun at Eastbourne starts from July 22.
