Croydon Harriers girl’s team completed their track & field summer campaign with a third place finish at the Lily B League Cup Final at Ewell on Saturday.
The team finished comfortably on the podium in the six-club fixture on 287.5 points, behind winners Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers (332.5), and runners-up Guildford & Godalming (318.5), but well clear of Herne Hill Harriers (166), Sutton & District (103) and Dorking & Mole Valley (91.5).
Marcia Sey led the way in the U13 girl’s events with wins in the 200m (28.1 seconds) and 70m hurdles (12.0secs). Ashleigh Clarke matched that feat in the U17 women’s sprints with victories in the 100m (12.4secs) & 200m (26.5secs).
More double event winners were found in the U17 women’s category with Anieshka Mido (hammer and shot), and Emma Fossett (javelin and discus) both triumphing.
In the 75m hurdles, Sonyce Archer (12.0secs) and Chanice Gordon (12.8secs) topped the standings in the U15 girl’s event to ensure maximum points.
On the field, Renae Jackson (19.57m) and Ines Zepa (18.03m) took maximum points in the U13 girl’s discus,
Further wins came courtesy of Lauryn John-Greenwood (1.48m, U15 girl’s high jump) and Coralie Mido (U15 girl’s shot putt, 8.65m).
Croydon rounded off the day with two wins in the 4x100m relays thanks to the U15 girls (52.1secs) and the U13 girls (53.9secs).
