The National Tennis Centre in Roehampton is hosting the Aegon GB Pro-Series from tomorrow [September 8] with some of Britain’s top players aiming to make the most of home advantage.

British number five Dan Cox heads the main draw having had a marvellous run of form in which he made four ITF Futures finals in a row, winning three, to jump up 203 places in the world rankings.

Marcus Willis and Tom Farquharson have more than halved their world rankings in 2013 with some good runs in tournaments.

Willis won his first ever singles title in Glasgow in January and finished runner-up to Cox in Wrexham last week.

Teenage aces, and former junior world top-10 ranked players, Liam Broady and Joshua Ward-Hibbert also play in the main draw and will be looking to continue their development as pro players.

Other young players to watch out for include Luke Bambridge and Jonny O’Mara, fresh from returning from New York where they competed in the US Open Juniors.

Tournament director Rebecca James said: “We’re all looking forward to continuing the professional season by hosting some top British players at the Aegon GB Pro-Series at the National Tennis Centre.

“We’re expecting a lot of exciting tennis and we’ll keep our fingers crossed that we will be crowning a British champion at the end of it.”
