Epsom Golf Club’s David Bright admits he will be treading new ground when he plays in the Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship next month.
Bright and clubmate Alex Vezey face a 400-mile round trip for the £28,750 final, being held at Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Club in Lincolnshire from October 2.
But Bright is confident the journey will not hinder them.
He said: “Neither of us have played Forest Pines before, it’s a bit of a hike.
“But I’m used to travelling. I was attached to the Miraflores Golf Academy in Spain while doing my PGA training so I had to fly back to England for exams as well as any tournaments I wanted to play in.”
The pair finished second in their qualifying event which was held at Epsom.
Bright added: “Alex is probably more of the player out of the two of us, but we’ll travel up to Forest Pines the day before and have a practice round and hopefully do as well as we did in the qualifying event.”
Leatherhead golfer Michael Lowe with partner Matthew Woods of Donnington Grove, is also taking part.
