Mitcham-based tennis wannabe Lize Heuvling could be facing some of the sport’s greats next month when she competes in the Necker Cup Tournament.
The pro-am competition, held on Richard Branson’s luxury island home, kicks off on November 12 and Heuvling will be there.
She won her place via a Virgin Active tennis competition that saw more than 1,000 players take to courts up and down the country.
Now Heuvling could be facing the likes of Rafa Nadal or Stefan Edberg in the south Pacific seas.
She said: “When Virgin Active announced the Necker Cup competition, I leapt at the chance to be involved. It's been a fantastic experience, from start to finish.
“Winning the chance to play against some of the world’s top tennis players, on Sir Richard Branson's island, is a lifelong dream and ambition. For a tennis fan, it doesn’t get better than this."
