Channel 4 TV Selections:
Doncaster 2.05 – Belardo
Chester 2.20 – Little Shambles
Doncaster 2.40 – Muthmir
Chester 2.55 – Pinzolo
Doncaster 3.15 – Aljaamaaheer
Doncaster 3.50 – Hartnell e/w
The Doncaster 3.50 race is one of the British Classics and is the St Leger which is ran over 1 mile and 6 furlongs at the Yorkshire track. The class horse in the race is Kingston Hill who was 2nd in the Derby to the wonderhorse Australia.
The key point to this race is whether or not Kingston Hill runs if the ground is too dry, as well as whether he makes 1m6f after his fine performance over 1m4f at Epsom. Fellow Derby protagonist Romsdal was 3rd at Epsom and runs for the Gosden/Buick team that has taken victory in this in recent years, and having left Eagle Top out of the running, they seem confident in their charge.
Snow Sky missed the Derby through injury, but has since taken victory at Goodwood as well as a strong 2nd in the Voltigeur at York. Windshear was 2nd to Snow Sky at Goodwood, but was beaten over 1m5f convincingly by the overpriced Mark Johnston runner Hartnell, who is one of the few in the field with experience over this distance.
Selection: Hartnell e/w
