Surbiton Ladies have received a boost ahead of Women's Hockey League Premier Division opening day with the confirmed return of one of their homegrown stars.
Stephanie Addison, who lifted the England Hockey U18 Cup with Surbiton in 2011, has registered for the forthcomnig campaign at Sugden Road three years after quitting the club for west country outfit Clifton.
Addison and fellow new signing Emma Fairhead, who agreed to join the defending league and cup champions last week, will be available to play in this Saturday's first league clash at home to East Grinstead.
The news comes days after head coach Brett Garrard secured the services of Scotland international goalkeeper Amy Gibson from Slough Hockey Club.
The 26-year-old, who has 76 caps, appeared for her country at last year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and was part of the Scottish squad that finished sixth at the recent Eurohockey Championships.
“Amy’s international experience with Scotland, both at the Commonwealth Games and the Eurohockey Championships, can only help us as we aim to defend both our domestic titles and challenge for Europe in 2015-16," said Garrard.
Gibson added: “I am excited to be joining Surbiton, having my first experience of playing in the English Premiership.
"I had a great time at Slough last season but I'm looking forward to the challenge and what will hopefully be a successful future at Surbiton. ”
