Ian Sloan’s versatility on the hockey pitch has won him a shot at a competitive debut for Great Britain at the World League final next month.
The Wimbledon star, along with five clubmates, has been selected for the trip to India by head coach Bobby Crutchley.
Crutchley has made eight changes to the side that went to the World League semi-finals and secured qualification for Rio 2016.
However, there is still room for Wimbledon’s James Bailey, Alastair Brogdon, Michael Hoare, Phil Roper and Henry Weir.

Surbiton’s Alan Forsyth could also be in line for a competitive debut after he and club-mate Chris Grassick were also selected.
Crutchley said: “We have watched Alan Forsyth’s performances continually improve for Surbiton and Scotland over the past couple of years.
“Since coming into the squad in September, his ability to learn and develop quickly is clearly evident and he fully deserves this opportunity.”
He added: “In the past 12 months, Ian Sloan has worked hard to develop a number of areas of his game.
“This has made him a more effective and versatile player, with the ability to now play in a number of positions.”
The action gets underway from November 27.
