The Surrey Comet's look back at the sporting landscape in 2015 continues with a quick reflection on events in July, August and September.
July: Hersham racing driver Sam Bird, right, won the final race – the London ePrix – of the inaugural Formula E season in Battersea Park. The 28-year-old Virgin Racing star finished the campaign fifth in the drivers’ standings. Bird was third in the new season’s standings going into round three in Uruguay on December 19
August: Kingston & Polytechnic Harriers throwers Gareth Cross, above, Pippa Wingate, and Chris Dack were the glue that stuck the club’s Southern Athletics League Division Three South West title triumph together. The win came on the season’s final day at Kingsmeadow, and added to the club’s three Rosenheim League successes
September: Walton Athletics Club’s Sophie Mace, above, claimed the UK School Games U17 girls’ discus title. The English Schools champion would later be crowned Surrey’s young sports personality of the year, having dominated her event in 2015
