More than 100 swimmers took to the pool on Sunday to take part in the annual Sutton Borough Championships.
Cheam Marcuda and Sutton & Cheam Swimming Club took over Westcroft Leisure Centre to compete in 22 events across various age groups, including the girls’ Oak Shield relay and the boys’ Harry Tate Trophy relay.
S&C dominated by winning 198 medals comprising 77 golds, 67 silvers and 54 bronze gongs, while Cheam Marcuda won 16 medals.
Gold winners: Kelly Bone (six), John Wileman (five), Daisy Meffan (four), Imogen Smith (four), Alice Nicot (four), Michael Rees (two), William Ward (two), Joseph Lenihan (three), Lois Martin (two), Keely Scanlon (three), Poppy Phillips (one), Andrij Drzaic (one), Spencer Creamore (two), Martin van Domselaar (one), Toby Beer (one) and Nicole Lee (one).
There were also two discretionary awards dished out to Val Conroy and Kieran Rutter.
Conroy won the Doug Gale Plate for outstanding service to swimming in the borough by a volunteer, and Rutter claimed the Worsell Bowl awarded to a junior athlete for outstanding performance.
