Former Hampton School student Toby Roland-Jones has revealed spending time with the England Test squad has left him keen for a repeat performance.
The 28-year-old has been named in the first England squad for this summer's series with Pakistan, but missed the cut for the first Test defeat to Pakistan at Lord's.
He instead claimed 3-24 as Middlesex claimed a five wicket T20 Blast win at Somerset last Friday.
He has missed out on making the squad for the second Test, which starts at Old Trafford tomorrow, but his brief spell with skipper Alastair Cook's national elite will live in the memory.
"I really enjoyed my time with England. The selection took a little while to sink in and I had a couple of days to prepare myself," he said.
"It was a great experience, which gets the juices flowing and increases the hunger inside you.
"I just have to get my head down and keep working hard. If I do that hopefully I will find myself picked again in the future."
