Walton Athletics Club’s Sam Mace enjoyed a weekend to remember at the South of England Championships in Ashford.
The 15-year-old threw 45.00 metres to win U17 men’s discus gold on Saturday before setting a new personal best of 60.05m to claim hammer silver on Sunday.
Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harrier Mollie O’Sullivan was also in medal-winning form in Kent at the South of England Championships in Ashford on Saturday.
The 16-year-old clocked two minutes 14.69 seconds to claim silver in the U17 girls’ 800m on Saturday – two seconds behind champion Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC’s Rebecca Bullock.
Kingston’s Mica Powell was sixth in Sunday’s U17 girls’ 400m in 59.61 secs on Sunday.
