Sarah Haycroft will bounce back from her Olympic heartache, says Surbiton director of hockey Brett Garrard.
The 25-year-old Sugden Road skipper narrowly missed selection for Rio and had to watch as Team GB’s women won gold in Brazil.
“I’m confident she’ll be back in the right frame of mind to lead our team,” said Garrard.
“It was unfortunate, but she has never let her disappointment show. She has got her head down and been diligent in training.”
Garrard has confirmed New Zealand international Julia King will return to Sugden Road for the forthcoming WHL Premier Division campaign, which starts at Holcombe on September 17.
Surbiton host a Play Day event this Saturday and new members can give the game a go from 10.30am.
