Bushy Park Girls Cricket Club are producing some of the best female cricketers in the country, says president Natalie Raja.
The club’s U13s completed an unbeaten 2016 by being crowned Middlesex champions at North London CC on Sunday.
The side, which includes girls from Waldegrave, St Catherine’s, Surbiton High, Coombe Girls and Teddington Schools, restricted Ealing to a total of 89 from their 20 overs in the final, having beaten Harrow Alliance CC in the semi-final.
Bushy Park Girls, who claimed the indoor crown in the spring, did not buckle under the pressure of expectation to score the required runs for the loss of just two wickets.
Club president Natalie Raja said: “It’s been a long, but very rewarding season. All the 70 girls who play for us should feel very proud of themselves.
“Our leafy corner of London is now producing some of the best female cricketers in the country.”
