Herne Hill Harriers' Keith Newton won the South of England veterans' over-40 cross country championships at Ruislip on Saturday.
He raced to an easy win in the 10km race in 33 minutes four seconds, 16 ahead of the runner-up. With clubmate Micky Doyle fourth overall and first over-45 (33:38) and Vic Maughn 11th (34:32), Herne Hill won the team prize.
Hercules Wimbledon's Steve Badgery was fourth in the over-60 event (38:58). Clubmate Hugh Saxby was 13th over-50.
