Chiswick starlet Samantha Fuller is hopeful a coaching masterclass from six-time Ryder Cup winner Colin Montgomerie can help catapult her to yet another HSBC Wee Wonders win in 2008.

The eight-year-old St Mary's Primary School Pupil, who has twice won the UK grand final at St Andrews, was given top tips at the launch of the national competition at Dukes Meadow golf club at Chiswick Bridge on Monday.

The Roehampton club golfer is determined to make the most of her meeting with Monty and is plotting a hat-trick of Wee Wonders wins at the home of golf this summer.

"I always enjoy meeting Colin Montgomerie - he is a really great player and a very nice man," said Samantha, who plays off a 23 handicap.

"I have got to play the regional Wee Wonders first and, if I win that, then I will get to go to St Andrews again, which would be great.

"I am in the U10s this year but I still believe I can win it and getting more tips off Monty can only help."

Montgomerie, who is bidding to win a place in Nick Faldo's Ryder Cup team later this year in Kentucky, hailed Samantha's talent.

After offering individual coaching on the driving range and putting green, Montgomerie played the first of Samantha's nine holes alongside her - and even he couldn't match her tee-shot to the green.

He said: "I get a fantastic amount of enjoyment out of working with kids like Samantha - it is so rewarding.

"I have got three of my own at a similar age and they do play, but not to this standard. Some of these guys have been unbelievable.

"It is great to see Samantha hitting the ball so far and having the right technique because she is the future of the game.

"I was 14 before I broke 100, so Samantha is way ahead of where I was at as a youngster.

"Her tee shot on the first proved that."
