Glyn Technology's swimming team excelled at the English Schools Finals in Sheffield, finishing as the highest ranked state school in the country.
The senior boys' team of Alex Evans, Don Potter-Edwards, Robert Worland and Matthew Breckon regularly came up against British juniors but turned in some impressive displays.
In the medley relay, Glyn came 17th and, in the freestyle relay, they finished 19th.
The intermediates were 12th in the medley team and seventh in the freestyle relay.
They then went on to come sixth in the final.
Spurred on by their success, Glyn went on to win the Surrey Schools' Aggregate Swimming Gala a week later.
As well as winning a host of medals and the intermediate championships, there were some fine individual performances.
Alfie Howes (intermediate butterfly), Thomas Penfare (intermediate individual medley) and Matthew Breckon (senior freestyle) claimed victories, Matthew's coming in County Schools record time.
The following students came second in their races; Alex Evans, senior individual medley; Tom Godfrey, intermediate breaststroke; Sid Howes, junior individual medley; and James Penfare, intermediate freestyle.
Don Potter-Edwards was third in the senior breaststroke.
