Franki Simonds has just returned from the All England Alpine Ski Championships in Bormio, Italy, as overall English giant slalom champion, for the third consecutive year.
The 17-year-old, who is studying for her A levels at Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton, is a member of the England alpine A team.
Although this has limited her racing and training time mainly to school holidays, Franki has enjoyed success in the few races she has compete in, including finishing as best Briton in a giant slalom event in Norway at Christmas, and winning individual honours at the British Schoolgirls' competition earlier this month.
Franki will now put aside her skis to concentrate on school until after Easter, when she will compete in the British and Scottish Championships in Meribel.
