Walton-based Joe Lee won the British Junior U19 Championship at Nottingham last weekend, defeating Neil Cordell of York- shire 9-3, 9-2, 9-0 in the final.
The 18-year-old trains at the St George's Hill Club in Weybridge under the guidance of his father Danny, who won the same event in 1981.
This comprehensive victory confirms Joe as a leading contender for the coveted European title in Stavanger, Norway, next month.
Before that, he heads for Iran in search of senior world ranking points.
He is ranked at number 162 in the men's world list but has recently been showing the form to lift him into the top 100.
